Ruins of Ujarras
Ruins of Ujarras (The Orosi River Valley, San José 2004): these are the remains of a Catholic chapel (the oldest church in the country) that was built for the first time in the mid-sixteenth century (expansions made at the end of the 17th century) Floods and subsequent earthquakes damaged this house of worship to its current state. It is also said that the church also suffered an attack by the infamous pirate Captain Morgan in 1666 . These ruins were declared a national monument in 1985. Hours: from 7:00 a.m. at 5:00 p.m. (everyday). Free admission.
